I am looking forward to celebrate your progress and results on Friday (I’m curious to hear what solution you’ll come up with).

Until then…

  1. Maybe I misunderstood.... was the assignment to do a Q&A where viewers/customers answer my questions (because that doesn't have to be live) or that the viewers/customers ask me questions that I answer?

    I assumed the latter.

And I have a question about that.
I do have experience with Q&As both live via ZOOM and live via social media. The downside of social media, in my experience, is that viewers come slowly. And that there are very few questions. In the meantime, I'll share content for about half an hour.
    My question:
How can I ensure that people are immediately present live at the time when I go live for the Q&A and how can I directly interact with them and ensure that there is a question or reaction (and more) from the audience?
(So I will prepare the Q&A in a better way)

    Thanks in advance

    1. Yes, it’s a Q&A session, where THEY ask and YOU answer - establishing your expert position.

To your question, I’d ask them to submit their questions in advance.
And you can tell them that those that are on time, are gonna get something special.
Then you can either share a “secret” in the first 15 minutes, or give them access to a hidden “gift” on your website…

I don’t know if it would work, but you should experiment until you get your desired result, Sigrid.

  2. Nisandeh, talking about questions to be answered bij customers: What is your experience with online survey tools? Are there any surveytools that you would recommand? The funformats that some of them use can be helpful in motivating the customers to answer questions.....

I found this info on internet about surveytools:

The average survey response rate is about 10%. That’s not great. Using the right tool that can make a survey that’s fun, branded and enjoyable. A survey people like taking will have a higher response rate, which means more feedback and data for you to work with.

    1. My experience (and understanding of human nature), Alma, is that the survey tool has nothing to do with the response rate.

Here are the leading factors to increase response rate:
      1. They know you and LIKE you
      2. They get a great, relevant incentive to fill out the survey
      3. The questions are fun and/or exciting and/or thought provoking
      4. Short survey would be answered more than long survey

      I hope that helps.

PS. I used expensive tools (e.g. SurveyGizmo), mid-range tools (e.g. SurveyMonkey), free tools (e.g. Google Forms) and integrates forms on my websites (e.g. WP-Forms plugin).

There are reasons to use expensive tools, sometimes, but they have nothing to do with the design of the survey or the response rate.

Today I’m using exclusively forms on our website, but mainly because it keeps my branding, keeps the people on my website, and integrates well with my email program (ActiveCampaign).

      Otherwise, I’d use Google Forms…

    2. Survey tools, DO work, technically.

BUT: creating a survey is a SKILL. A paintbrush and some paint, DO work, technically, but when you don't understand the skill of painting, your results won't be good.

More than 80 % of the surveys I receive are complete disasters as they never got checked from within the point of view of the customer or contain stupid errors against logic of the questions and options. Also a lot of them are unconsciously steering the mind of the customer or the questions are put in a way that also changes the state of the customer that needs to answer the questions and from another state, you can expect other answers.

If you don't take this into account, you will get the "wrong" answers and you risk to make decisions based on wrong information. So be VERY careful with surveys.

  3. Questions about the Q&A session.

    1. What is your idea about partnering with someone to do the Q&A session together? My take is:
+ My partner can bring in new people, presenting me as an expert to her clients. And vice versa.
-/+ We can answer questions from 2 perspectives (But then, how does that support our expert status)
    - We may not have aligned goals (I am building expert status, she is selling)
    - I direct attention away from me as an expert.
    2. Do you have any suggestions/tips when setting up a cooperation like this? Rules, agreements, combined offers?

    Questions about video's in a Q&A format.
Context: I have started recording video's to answer questions for clients. And now I am also asking their permission to use the video's as content for my own website/channel.
    3. Will I want to redo everything I upload in the next few weeks after the Youtube webinar? If so, what can I do now to make the video's more relevant/useful...
    4. Something you can do in video is "show, don't tell". Like in the morningfa.me video, it helps to share a screen. Any tips on how to do this and work on my expert position at the same time?

    1. To answer your questions, Max…

      1. Whenever I did Q&A with a partner, our purpose was to deliver tons of values to both our audience.
IF we tried to sell anything it was a mutual product.
I think this is a good setup.

      2. Make it fun - both for you and your audience.
      A little bantering is fine.
Disagreeing with each other RESPECTFULLY is fine.
If the purpose is sales - I would go for a combined offer.

      3. You might want to redo some… 😜
But don’t worry, I will show you how to get YouTube to tell you EXACTLY what works and what doesn’t work with your videos, so the more videos you already uploaded (and the more people watched them), the faster your learning curve would be…
Meaning… go ahead and record videos and make sure you get people to watch them.

      4. I’m not sure what you mean about showing and building your expert position at the same time?
If you mean that a screen capture without your face would take away from your expert position, then I don’t have an answer… and you can ALWAYS screen capture with your face in the corner of the screen.
      But I probably didn’t get the question…

  4. Hey Nisandeh,

I really hate to answer questions with "It depends.."
But there are some, where more details are needed to answer properly.

Do you have an idea how to deal with those?
    Maybe by structure?
Or maybe it is just me shutting down, when somebody says "It depends" 😆

    Thank you, so much!

    1. I think most questions could be best answered with "that depends...", Cornelia.

      1. What's the color of the sky? That depends (time of day, weather, type of sunglasses you're wearing...)
      2. Should you write a book? That depends!
      3. Should you have a child, get married, start a business, cross the street, eat your vegetables, obey the law...? That depends!

What you could do when you're asked a question that is missing too much contect/background/details is:
      1. Answer, "In most cases, the sky would either appear blue (during daytime) or black (during nighttime);
      2. Answer, "It depends, the color of the sky will appear differently based on time of day, the weather, the color of your sunglasses, and other factors);
      3. Answer, "To better answer your question please provide me the answers to the following questions - what is the time of day? what is the weather like? what color sunglasses are you wearing?...)

I'm sure there are more ways to answer a vague question, but those should cover most of your bases...

      Hope that helps.

    2. I used to watch game commentary on Age of Empires 2, where the caster would ask questions to his audience. They would quickly give all kinds of answers trying to be the best of the class. And he would reign them back in with "It depends...".

For him, I think it is actually part of his Brand Identity and always being smarter than his viewers. He then gives several ways of looking at it as an answer and finally explains why the gamers we are watching made a certain choice or should have done something different.

So I think when you say it strong enough "It depends" is a really good answer.

      1. Interesting thought, Max.
Thank you for sharing. I will try to avoid it, when I answer their questions in the Book.
But after they answered my questions, for example in a Training, it might be a good strategy to keep the conversation.

  5. Who is interested in participating in a brainstorming session with the subject:

What is a successful way to make friends out of strangers?

The reason for this is that I want to give a free training van specialist naar leidinggevende, applying everything I have learned from this WOMB , resulting in 2 participants out of 16 places. You can see proof of this on this page: https://www.authenticiteitinbeeld.nl/vragenlijst-van-specialist-tot-leidinggevende/

My current ideal clients continue to request training and coaching conversations and so it is not the quality of what I have to offer, but that they have become friends. So I need more 'friends' 😉

        1. Marcel… this is not the place to ask for brainstorm.
That’s what you have the WhatsApp group for.
People usually will visit this page if they have questions for me…
