Contributing to a Better World

Give First. And Keep Giving.

In the spirit of The Enlightened Millionaire, since 2008, we donated our time, money and connections as well as conducted crowdfunding campaigns to support humanitarian projects around the world.

Save a Girl (Nepal)

In 2016 we partnered with Room to Read to save 500 Kamlari girls in Nepal from slavery.

Kamlari girls are sold by their parents and become slaves to their master. They never have access to education and never have the chance to fulfill their potential.

To create a big impact we partnered with Room to Read, a global organization dedicated to improving literacy and gender equality around the globe.

Through our crowdfunding campaign we have raised €131,249, which made sure that 525 girls will not suffer this horrific fate.

These girls now enjoy freedom, education and training, providing them a great chance for a bright future.

Schools for Laos (Laos)

In 2015 we partnered with Pencils of Promise to build four primary schools in rural Laos.

For this project, we committed ourselves to create a bigger impact through actively involving our community. We set up a crowdfunding campaign and pledged to double the amount raised from our own funding.

We are proud to say that our crowdfunding campaign raised €48,902, which we doubled to €100,000. This amount allowed Pencils of Promise to build four primary schools in rural villages in Laos!

Since 2008 Pencil of Promise has built more than 300 schools in Laos, Ghana, and Guatemala. And we are proud to partner with them and be a part of making a difference in so many people’s lives.

Bringing Light to Bright Places

In 2014 we partnered with WWF & Barefoot College to bring solar electricity to rural Madagascar.

By ‘de-mystification’ of solar technology and ‘de-centralization’ of its application, we placed the fabrication, installation, usage, repair, and maintenance of sophisticated solar lighting units in the hands of rural, illiterate and semi-literate women.

Through our contribution of $50,000 – 3 rural villages received solar lights for the first time in their existence, enabling the children to study in the evening and for their mothers to complement their income with crafts created during the evenings.

This program is targeted to set a strong Initiative to prove that a self-sustainable, self-reliant, community managed program can indeed address many issues simultaneously converging on Madagascar.

Inspiring Young Entrepreneurs

In 2013 we supported the Branson Centre in Johannesburg with funds and mentoring.

In February 2013 we were invited by Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Unite to mentor young entrepreneurs in the Branson Centre.

In addition to advising the center’s leadership and mentoring the aspiring entrepreneurs, we also donated $75,000 to help the center support many more of the next generation of South African entrepreneurs.

Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship supports aspiring entrepreneurs by offering practical business skills and access to coaches to offer guidance, mentors to share their experiences and financing opportunities to enable growth.

Two Generations’ Education (Uganda)

From 2008 until 2011 we contributed funds, time and knowledge to URDT Girls’ School in Uganda.

URDT Girls’ School focus on teaching both students and their parents and together they develop a shared vision for their home, analyze their current situation, apply systems thinking, team learning, plan together and learn new skills.

In addition to contributed funds, time and knowledge to URDT from 2008 till 2011, we also traveled to Uganda to teach the URDT students and teachers the same elements of success and leadership skills which we taught in our programs in Europe

The URDT aims to develop a pool of value-driven, visionary leaders who are committed to taking up transformation roles in their homes and communities.
