My Expert YouTube Strategy – Preparation

Thank you!

Thank you so much for reserving your place in the Zoom workshop My Expert YouTube Strategy, taking place on Thursday, October 27, at 8pm CET.

The workshop was fully booked within a few hours after opening the registration to our mailing list, and you are one of the few that got the opportunity to learn this strategy I have never shared before.

During the workshop you will learn:

  1. Why this expert YouTube strategy is such a valuable toolย to build your expert position as well as your list;
  2. What is the most valuable content to include in your expert YouTube channel;
  3. How to best structure your content for your viewers;
  4. How to create the highest quality video content – fast, efficient and EXACTLY the way THEY want to consume it;
  5. How to make it all happen – yourย implementation plan.

How to prepare?

In order to make sure I can give you everything you need to know in a 2-hour workshop, you will need to complete the following preparation assignment.

This is a mandatory requirement, and if you wonโ€™t complete it BEFORE the workshop, unfortunately –ย you will NOT be able to participate.ย

So, please, take it seriously.

The assignment has four parts, ALL 4 must be completed before the workshop:

  1. Record a video answering one of your target audience most frequently asked questions.

    The video MUST be between 5 minutes and 10 minutes (not longer, nor shorter);

    The video MUST include a call-to-action to COMMENT below the video;
Record the video in whatever language your CURRENT list prefers.

  2. Upload the video as PUBLIC to your YouTube channel.

If you don’t have a YouTube channel – create one – and upload the video to this new channel.โ€จ

  3. Announce the video you just recorded to everyone on your mailing list, social media connections, and everyone else that might be interested.

Your goal is to get as many people as possible to watch the video BEFORE the workshop on Thursday.

  4. Post the link to the video you recorded in the comment box below.

We will send you the login to the workshop Zoom room only AFTER we watch your video.

Practicalities

To complete this assignment you should reserve between 60 to 90 minutes – so donโ€™t postpone doing it to the last minute.

WHEN we receive your link to the video in the comment box, we will send you the login information to the Zoom meeting room.ย

Please be patient as this might take some time (we are watching every single video).

If you posted your link and didnโ€™t hear from us with the login information by Thursday at 5pm, please contact us by WhatsApp or text at: +31-6-43766590.

Live fully, stay awesome,

  1. During the covid time I did a number of video's that was with people listening. For another assignment I did it for a future group and it was kinda strange. Recording the one for this assignment was and full of mistakes. I left in on the channel but will replace it and add more till I get into the promised 'better results'.. Still struggling how much preparation I need to do it. I started writing down sentences and then I did it partial based on sentences and without. Next time think writing down a few bullet point of just a handful of reminder post-its must do. Now planning time for the other 149 ;-).

  2. My insight was the preparation assignment. My complaint: no time to prepare, didn't know what question to choose, to much pressure on it (always the same with Nisandeh), my camera stand wasn't fixt yet.....

I am absolutely convinced that without completing the preparation assignment, I would not have gotten further than an intention to record videos.

  3. Hi Nisandeh,

Thanks for the workshop from yesterday!
Something completely different. The friend I am bringing has signed up. It only worked when he did it the 2nd time. So I would like to ask if he is in. He hasn't heard back yet. That's why I am asking. His name is Maurice van Erven.

    thank you

    Guido

  4. Dear Nisandeh,

After 6 attempts I finally have a YouTube film which hopefully comply to your guidelines. For the first time I understand why it is important to take care of yourself by means of enough sleep, visit to the hairdresser on a regular basis and taken care of your body and mind.

Thanks to the stimulating but critical voices of my buddies and daughter it took 6 retakes. My film is public on YouTube but consciously only shared with my family and buddies for the simple reason that I donโ€™t look fit enough to spread it on YouTube and LInkedIn. Because of my tilred look it will probably do more damage to my business than growth ๐Ÿ™‚

    https://youtu.be/qYIcRDEIx_Y

Look forward to seeing you all tonight.

  5. Hi Nisandeh, I send you two clips I recently recorded and that are on our You Tube channel. The first is in Dutch for hospitals, about the brochure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgEHlVpbS58 In the video I start with naming the problem first, and give the solution immediately after.
The second is a small one about a lock of hair, (FAQ : what do you mean with a lock of hair?)
    https://studio.youtube.com/video/cmPXCW77lmQ/edit?c=UC5p6uVrq77tbJZw3wn2lYEg
I apologize for not filming a new one now with my phone like you explained, I tried to today and just now once again but I just cannot succeed! And kept thinking: โ€˜This is not working right now, I have this in the clips I send aboveโ€™.
The TOUPIM Youtube instruction content is partly public, we send the direct links to clients. Other genera lToupim clips are public of course.
Looking very much foreward to the lesson tomorrow, I may be a bit late because I am 3 days helping Thijs with the Dental Expo Congress in Amsterdam for Straight Dental. The congress is until 8, I run home as fast as I can.
    Thanks in advance, Pim

  6. My video, after first thinking about many other things, finally came about very quickly after having spent the entire day building the stock market today and last week.

After listening to nisadeh's video, I quickly had a clear idea of โ€‹โ€‹how to do it. I'm here in a small airbnb house near the stock exchange. And made the notes on a coffee torture.

Last week I already had a video made as an infulencer of a product of which I get the sales (turnover) for a large part of the private market to me and I get 1% of the sales to the bicycle brands from OEM sales in benelux. That can (will) become a serious source of income for me. Very proud of the video in the new workshop that I recently got from another party for making videos. (workshop worth โ‚ฌ25000)

So super things on my path and that helps it flow.

In the link the two videos that are on my youtube channel.

I will also share it online on linkedin/ facebook. instagram.

All you need to know about the question "Help my bike is broken"

Enduo the boost for every bike.

  7. This was a challenging assignment for me, but Iโ€™ve made my very 1st video and published it on Youtube. It is about 3 tips on how to prepare a conversation with a French client. It is in Dutch because so is my target audience. I did it in one take, so itโ€™s not perfect, but at least I put it out there. I did not edit it because I donโ€™t have any editing experience yet. Here is the link to the video. https://youtu.be/6F0ERB1PnMs

    1. It's in Dutch, answering the question: "How to deal with acute anger?"

      About this assignment....I:
      - did NOT like it when I read it
      - started liking it once I started thinking about what question to answer
      - now LOVE it seeing the video ready (and no, it's not perfect at all, but just having done it gives me a boost)

Also made me a lot clearer on how to connect the 'stage 2 process' I want to share to a 'stage 1' audience, essentially bridging the gap and allowing more people to benefit from it.

So...thanks for this assigment, means a lot.

      1. Thank you for sharing your process, Rens.
Hopefully it might inspire someone else to actually take the plunge and do it.
(Loved your playfulness with the call-to-action to commentโ€ฆ)

  8. Well ... just to be on the safe side ...

I rerecorded the last little part of my video for this assignment and added a call-to-action to COMMENT below the video.
I published this video on my personal Facebook-profile and on the company page of De Wijsheid van 50+ on LinkedIn.

This is the link of this video: https://youtu.be/p8e9yeylc7c

My new website will be live on November 1, 2022.

Have a great day, everybody ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. My video is here: https://youtu.be/e8xCC-LNUGA

This is the one I recorded before Nisandeh made the "how to make an FAQ video in 15 minutes" video, so will watch that and make another one probably:)

I LOVE making videos. Just struggled a bit with my editing software (my laptop is 10 years old and struggling with how much memory it takes).

can't wait! It's a quick intro on DiSC for remote workers, so if this is interesting for you, please have a look. Feedback appreciated! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I liked it!
I must admit though, in line with what Nisandeh said in the master class about "drop off points", that the moment you started the pitch-part and addressed the workshop, I could feel the natural inclination to abandon the video at that point (because "the substance" had been delivered by then).

    1. Unfortunately, Nanda, this video you shared is not per the instructions.
If you wish to participate in the workshop tomorrow, please create and upload a new video following the exact instructions aboveโ€ฆ

    1. For now, 100 views, 1 like and ZERO comments.
      Did recieve this email:

      "Jeroen,

Dank. Je hebt het duidelijk en enthousiast uitgelegd. Geen speld tussen te krijgen.

      Groet,
      Peter van B."

Only 1 response, by mail. Not on Youtube

        1. Itโ€™s great that you ask for comments, Alexander, but theyโ€™re turned off on your YouTube channel.
You need to make it possible for people to comment.

          1. I hope now reaction is possible.

Unless you told us not to put ourselves down I feel nevertheless a bit stupid.

I got some negative feedback. As a perfectionist I know everything is a concept version.

          2. No worries, Alexander...
Negative feedback is good - and I'm pretty sure tomorrow (in the workshop) you'll see how to make it all better.
You really don't want to know what was the first negative feedback I've got for my first video and from whom...๐Ÿ™ˆ
            We live and learn...

  10. Shooting the video was not the issue, getting it on Youtube is. I had real issues with "getting in" again after a very-very long dormant time (partly because of having lost the password - which wouldn't be solved by just clicking "forgot password", and partly because I'm on Malta, which was also suspicious), and subsequently, when I DID get it, it didn't want to upload, saying: "Sensitive action blocked. Because youโ€™re attempting a highly sensitive action, we need to be sure itโ€™s really you. At the moment, we canโ€™t. Try again from a device you normally use (like your phone or laptop) or from the location you usually sign in from." PERIOD. No more options. I'll try again when back in the Netherlands, but that won't be in time. So for now, I've put it on Vimeo.

    1. Hi Jellie,
Please post here the link to ONE video that you just uploaded which follows the exact requirements of the assignment - it needs to answer a (frequently asked) question, be between 5-10 minutes, and has a call to action to comment.
None of the 4 videos on your channel fits these requirements - and can't be used for the workshop of Thursday.

      1. I just saw your email with the reasoning why you don't want to follow the requirements...

I totally understand your reasoning, but then the workshop is NOT for you.
The workshop is ONLY for creating Q&A videos, following a certain - very specific format.

The next workshops might fit you better.

  11. Announce the video you just recorded to everyone on your mailing list, social media connections, and everyone else that might be interested:

I send it with my mailinglist
I put it on Facebook en LinkedIn
    I put it on Google

and asked every time for comments!

  12. Dear Nisandeh,

This is the link to my video:
    https://youtu.be/uXlMmcExx54

How to make your baby sleep through the night? I could talk hours about it. I just shared the 3 main tips. It was a challenge to convey the message in 10 min. but I certainly loved the exercise.

Thank you for empowering me to talk about the information I wished I have received. It feels like the tangible start of Writing My own Book.

Canโ€™t wait for your workshop Thursday!

    Until then,

    Maru

    1. I misunderstood as well about the CTA. I asked for YouTube subscription on the video ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ but while sharing it on Facebook, Whatsapp and social media, I did a call to action to comment.

  13. Hi, here is my video https://youtu.be/qT9LOVRpKlA
I did have a Youtube channel that I consciously phased out after about 40 episodes because it was not working for me: I enjoy podcasting much more than videos and so does my audience.
I would like to mention that this task has been very disruptive, I am in the middle of a launch and I had my content already planned, the only call to action is to buy, to have any other call to action is not aligned with what I am doing this week - I have a sequence of 9 emails being sent to my list and I have decided not to interrupt the communication I had planned. So I have only mentioned this video in Instagram stories and a Facebook post, I hope it will be sufficient to obtain some comments.

  14. Hello Nisandeh,

Here is my video: https://youtu.be/7e8QtVtzq34. It's on Youtube, Facebook and LinkedIn. I also sent it by WhatsApp to several connections.

I just realised I didn't read the assignment perfectly well. I do have a CTA, but forgot to ask for a comment in the video itself. I did ask for a comment on LinkedIn and facebook. Do you need me to do a part of the recording and the publishing al over again?

  15. Hi Nisandeh,
the video is almost ready (it is recorded) however it is not yet ready for youtube. We are going to do that tomorrow in the morning, than I will send you the link. Apologies for the delay.
    best regards,
    Guido

  16. So that took me a while... nerve breaking and all my inner deamons screaming.
This was not outside my comfort zone, this was right in my panic zone for most of the time.
If there is any feedback- i would like to get it 5:1 (5 compliments to 1 tip). I know, ego ...

    https://youtu.be/d65EJoq3lzs

Dan beeft ie even.

      1. Hey! Thanks for the feedback.
I am very moving- I slapt the table 2-3 timesโ€ฆ I saw the camera move- I think you can see me smile once. I really need to watch that.

I had a paper with the 5 points- but the lights were so strong you could see through. Didnโ€™t know how to solve- so I removed it. Good to know it is needed anyway. Will think of something next time!

        Thanks again!

    2. Hey Bas, this is a really, really, really, really, really (this adds up to 5 compliments) good first go! Tip 1: what Guy said. Easy to do on a new flip-over paper. Tip 2: also give an example in the business domain (preferably an anonymized example from your own practice), in parallel to the buffet example.

  17. Hi

    Hereby my preparation video:

    https://youtu.be/W_aaiDZWHPU

It is not the best one. But I found out that I did not have call to actions. Except with old video's.
I struggled with uploading the video to my computer.
Then I found out that I could use airdrop. That was easy.

    Then editing took a while.
I did this as fast as possible.
I hope this one is OK!

I am afraid that if I take a closer look I find sooo many mistakes that I will not finish this project in time.
