Getting ready for 2023

As the Working ON My Business program is getting closer to its end, as well as 2022 – it’s time to begin shifting your focus from the past and the present (which we focused on in the last 22 weeks)… to the near future… Year 2023.

This week, we’re going to focus on coming up with NEW ideas to experiment with during the first months of 2023.

Most entrepreneurs are naturally good in coming up with new ideas… and experimenting…

But (too) often… they get comfortable with what works, and what ‘kinda’ works, that they stop coming up with new ideas, new experiments, new approaches…

And in a world that is constantly changing in a breakneck speed – it means – that if your business doesn’t grow… it’s going to die… often sooner than later.

Here is the 5-step process you could follow in order to achieve that goal:

  1. Come up with NEW ideas for products/services you might want to create and offer in 2023;

  2. Come up with NEW ideas for marketing tactics/strategies you might want to implement in 2023;

  3. Pick up ONE NEW product/service to create and offer in 2023;

  4. Pick up ONE NEW marketing tactic/strategy to implement in 2023;

  5. Make a strategic plan how you’re going to develop & implement these product/service AND marketing strategy/tactic in 2023.

Remember – the whole purpose of the Working ON Your Business (WOMB) program is to get you in the habit of investing EVERY DAY 10-15 minutes working ON your business…

So, my suggestion, do NOT do all the exercises in one batch – but stick to the “schedule” I recommend… It will build the right habit, that would serve you for the rest of your business life.

  1. Day 3, 4 & 5 Product, Strategy and plan

    We have two products we will develop in 2023: the English translation of our set of cards and our new program for Product Owners. This will be our focus for at least the first half year.

    In addition, we have started talks with the initiators of a guild to possibly take over.

    We will be recording all trainings, workshops and Q&As. With this we can then put these parts online, both via a paid platform and via, for example, Youtube and LinkedIn. We will be fully using the free channels from January.
    It is also my idea to ask the participants of our free workshops for a reference. We then use these to raise awareness of our frontend for the Product Owners program.

  2. I decided to work smarter and focus more on what I have.
    Focus on my online academy. Get help with that and scale what I have.
    Within my signature program I can make a lot of smaller parts that I can sell.
    And I can follow up and make other products after the program, making high end products.
    Like Retreats, mentoring, masterminds.
    Use social media for my benefit, instead of consuming.
    Serve people with the best I have and want to contribute to the world. Leave a legacy.
    Make an english version of it too. Have fun with it.

  3. Day 5 – Come up with a strategic plan how AND when you’re going to develop & implement these product/service AND marketing strategy/tactic in 2023.

    - In the first quarter of 2023 I will combine Linked in video in series with free monthly entrance front end webinars (in zoom) through my website (like, trust, buy). And I will develop a back end with guest experts on aspects of stress (brain, food, health).
    To use Linked in properly I will do an online linked in training in december 22.

    - And in the first half of 2023 I will use my you tube channel to produce Q&A video vlogs (sometimes with guests) and blogs and my expertbook on stress and burnout prevention, especially for parents.

  4. WEEK 22 DAY 5 – Come up with a strategic plan

    We made a start with the marketing strategy “booking direct”. I have read the book/strategy and are working out the first steps.
    Q1 I’ll develop the strategy
    Q2 Implement all in blogging/clients/soc. Media templates and content calendar
    Q3 Measure the results and improve it all.

    About our new product: new house-owner product, a service product of total package of rental management, incl new website.
    We start in Q1 and develop it. I think we need about almost the whole year.
    Q2: The basic is a new website/mailinglist/download etc.
    Q3: Then start with soc.media etc.
    Q4: Than measure the results and improve.

  7. Day 4 – ONE NEW marketing strategy/tactic is the "Booking direct"strategy. This will be huge to develop, but I expext also a huge impact on our turnover.

  8. Day 3.
    The ONE NEW product/service that makes a big impact is our new Owner product, a service product of total package of rental management, incl new website.
    We have started already to prepare.

  9. Day 2. NEW marketing strategies/tactics. One of these strategy contains many more smaller ones, which I will not name all.
    That makes it much more than 10.

    Bookdirect strategy, this is huge to implement.
    A complete new strategy with a lot of new tasks.
    That must be also new templates/ideas for soc. media/discount vouchers/recomments friends/video's/blogposts etc.

    Be a guestblogger myself, to bring more traffic on our websites

    • On the Quick Scan Tool: In Q1 I’ll develop this tool, in Q2 I’ll develop a generic case-study to show its purpose, use and possibilities. Next to this in Q2 write a white paper on the tools and what is solves. In Q3 will give one or more workshops and show demonstrations. In Q4 offer the service of interested clients.
    • On the YouTube channel: In Q4 this year and Q1 next year do the YouTube and make a newsletter plan for April, May, June and July/August. Make first newsletter in Q1 and sent out the first week of April 2023.

  12. Day4

  13. Day 5. Make a strategic plan how you’re going to develop & implement these product/service AND marketing strategy/tactic in 2023

    Already on it. Because building 'my brand' meaning who am I as a person and as a company is a priority for 2023. It all starts with writing down my core qualities/ the core qualities of my companies. What is important. What am I proud of, what must/can I improve. I have had an offer to make some kind of bible for my company that I can use as a reference. But I think I have to write it myself. It can be useful to have an objective view from someone who is not attached to me/ my company. But in the end I have to do it myself.
    So first thing I am going to do is make that list, but also name the pitfalls. Because by recognizing the pitfalls I can work on it.

  14. Day 5. Strategic plan how and when
    The chosen marketing strategy applies to an existing product, and I will start it in January (Zoom webinars, traffic to be gained from Youtube and other channels).
    The chosen product will take a while to develop; I expect to have a first release by the end of the summer.

  15. Day 4 – Pick up ONE NEW marketing strategy/tactic you’re going to try out in 2023

    So much is happening. I am really excited to start the new year. Working out ideas and finding matching marketing tactics.
    What I find most important for 2023: (MY) Brand Storytelling. Up till now I primarily concentrated on the brands I sell. Every brand/product has a story to tell. But in 2023 I will tell more about the 'brand' Ditha Bonita. I think it is important people get to know the concepstore/person behind the brands I offer.

  16. Day 3. Pick up ONE NEW product/service to create and offer in 2023

    Organize an outlet to get rid of all stuff older than 3 years and has already been written off. This is the easiest to accomplish and very much needed. Letting go of 'older' collections.

  17. Day 5
    Since my brain kept on ‘working’ on this idea I think I found my irresistible offer. (Which is new)
    Parents kept on telling me that they prefer individual coaching instead of group training ( or coaching)
    I want to put training together with individual moments and implementation time afterwards.
    I called parents to hear their opinions and if it would be fitting to their problem.
    Until now I heard YES YES YES.

    It took a while and then…. There is comming something 🎉

    Discussed a plan with my other half today for next year.

    Step 1 Find out at which companies the contacts work and create a new group
    Step 2 ask them if they want to tell them their birthday so they get a surprise.
    Step 3 Record a birthday message with Vanessa to send
    Step 4 On their birthday, send the birthday message in a message with a ready message that they can use for their work. The content of this is that I would like to visit their organization with a free session on how they can improve something within their organization.
    Step 5 an assignment they have to complete as preparation before I come.
    Step 6 Set a date for my visit to them.
    Step 7 Explore with them what is going on and what is possible.
    Step 8 Make an offer that is irresistible.

    Tomorrow I will celebrate a whole weekend in a cabin with Vanessa. Relax and unwind in the middle of nature. I'll be back online on Tuesday

    • Based on the earlier activities I will generate the 100-150 YouTube for the book and a few to actually put on YouTube, I’ll add some interviews (vlogs/blogs) with people in the field, current and previous customers and other people that are interesting or that interest me. Next to this offer a monthly (10 times per year) newsletter relate in this newsletter to new things in the field and add to that an update to my activities. Included will be links to my YouTube’s / vlogs/blogs.

    Nowadays, I find most toys in the market ugly, expensive and impersonal. I would like to experiment something new and share the toys I am building for my daughter in an online workshop. 🥳

    My implementation can be therefore completed by January 6 2023.

  35. Decided today to translate the box set into English, but first sell it before doing.

    Also the programme is a new product. The basic planning we did today. Questionnaire to the course members and mailing will be send next week. We will roll from there.

    Also talks will be held to take over an existing ‘mailing list’ and subscription to transform this into a platform and merge it with the programme.

    This will have our focus.

    The new ideas help with filling in / expanding my way of thinking according to these new products.

    Actually, it's up to me to do what I have in mind.

    Basically means recording everything I know and posting it online.
    Create videos

    Continue to focus on the consumer (the virgin)
    Doesn't mean that I don't have contact with companies because I use products from companies and further connect companies with each other and connect products so that I earn money from there.

    For a few projects I definitely have to ask for money right away because if the economy collapses for whatever reason and I have no money how can I survive. Suppose the internet goes out, what good is my videos (I'm going to ask this on Wednesday)

    Other than that I can't get any further with thinking because I'm now so focused on what I have to do first and I'm already being put off way too much. My businees is actually nothing yet in the context of what I want because the videos have to be put down / made.

    System of answering the question and making a video of it on youtube I will do weekly from my studio workshop.
    I already expect a shift to really that consumer because I will reach them with the questions / problems they have.

  48. Day 2 – Use the Idea Generator to come up with at least 10 NEW marketing strategies/tactics you might want to use in 2023.
    So, I am not a marketeer. And preferably I outsource marketing to people that are specialized in (new) marketing tactics and strategies.

    1. Influencer marketing. Build long term relationships with good influencers and have them help me to make Ditha Bonita more well known. Never done that before.
    2. Video-based content is becoming a key focus area in social media marketing. So I really want to do more with this strategy. I know it is not new, but it is relatively new to me.
    3. Live streaming (I do not know whether I would dare to do this, but it would be interesting to see the effect).
    4. I read user-generated content is the new word-of-mouth. So letting your consumers do the talking and reviewing. E.g. Unboxing videos, makeup reviews, branded hashtags, and photo tags.
    5. Customers are more demanding nowadays. They want an experience, not one single act. So it would be interesting to create a customer journey map. A customer journey map is a visual representation of how a customer acts, thinks, and feels through the buying process. It will be a challenge but important, I think.
    6. Even more focus on user experience and how to improve that
    7. Interactive content. How to captivate the attention of your audience/consumer. IInteractivity can increase loyalty and streamline the customer experience. Also a challenge but looking forward to inventing new ways. Or discover what other people (marketeers) are doing concerning interactive content, with e.g. AI.
    8. Dithabonita.nl is all about sustainability and social responsibility. And has been since 2009. Not as a trend but as part of the companypolicy, the DNA. Maybe more emphasis on social responsibility and reputation to show the difference with green washing companies. E.g. through promoting recyclable packaging (which we re-use), promotions that spread awareness of societal issues, charity actions, promote fair trade (we think it's normal, but we could emphasize it more).
    9. (MY) Brand Storytelling. Up till now I primarily concentrated on the brands I sell. Every brand/product has a story to tell. But in 2023 I will tell more about the 'brand' Ditha Bonita.
    10. Not new, but new to me. Featured Snippets in Google Search. I will outsource this for sure but I am really interested in this type of marketing.
