The KAIZEN Principle
As a small business owner, you often have to juggle a lot of different priorities in order to succeed.
- You need to find ways to improve your product or service while keeping your costs low, and all without sacrificing quality.
- You need to choose which marketing strategies to use and how to optimize them to your needs and situation.
- You need to find ways to balance professional and personal life.
And the list goes on and on…
Two weeks ago – we focused on stopping what doesn’t produce results.
Last week – we focused on doubling down on what delivers you the most results.
This week, we’re going to focus on optimizing what ‘kinda’ works and to do that we’re going to use the Kaizen philosophy and principles.
Kaizen is the Japanese word for “change for the better.”
It is a philosophy that can be applied to product development, delivery, marketing, sales, administration… as well as to your personal life.
A quick reminder
To stay in the program, we expect you to participate fully in the program for the coming four weeks
No stories. No excuses.
There are 4 more assignment weeks
You’ll have to do them ALL. FULLY!
There is one last Hot Seat session:
- December 8 – at 8pm
Make sure you are present.
Make sure you are asking a question.
There are 2 more bonus workshops:
- My Resilience Blueprint – November 24 – at 8pm
- Level Up My Business – December 22 – at 8pm
You do NOT have to join any of these… these workshops are OPTIONAL.
BUT… if you do choose to join any of them – each has an OBLIGATORY preparation assignment, which you MUST complete to attend.
So, again… choose wisely!
Assuming you’re committed to complete the program till the end…

Let’s start with your MINDSET…
Kaizen Principles
Small step at a time
Kaizen is all about making small changes that lead to big results. It is based on the idea that everyone can contribute to improving the process, no matter how small their role may be.
This means that kaizen ideas can come from anyone (not only you). And because kaizen is all about continuous improvement, it can be used to address any type of problem, no matter how big or small.
Kaizen attributes
There are three main attributes or types of kaizen: process improvement, product improvement, and people improvement. Let’s take a closer look at each one.
Process Improvement
This type of kaizen focuses on improving the way work is being done.
It can involve streamlining processes, eliminating waste, and improving quality control.
Product Improvement
This type of kaizen focuses on improving the product itself.
It can involve finding ways to make the product/service better quality, more user-friendly, or more marketable.
People Improvement
This type of kaizen focuses on improving your team.
It can involve training your team, improving communication, and creating a more positive work environment.
Steps to implement Kaizen
1. Brainstorm
Brainstorming sessions can be a great way to come up with kaizen ideas. They can involve all members of the team or just you (use the Idea Generator).
The key is to generate as many ideas as possible, and then narrow them down until you have a few that are worth pursuing.
2. Conduct pilot tests
Once you have a few kaizen ideas that you want to pursue, it’s time to put them into action. This is where pilot testing comes in. Pilot testing allows you to try out new ideas on a small scale.
This is important because it allows you to see what works and what doesn’t without risking too much. It also allows you to make changes and adjustments as needed before implementing the change on a larger scale.
3. Get feedback and make adjustments
After pilot testing your kaizen idea, it’s important to get feedback from your team and clients. This will help you to see how well the change is working and whether there are any areas that need to be adjusted.
You can get feedback in a number of ways, such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, or observations. Once you have this feedback, you can make changes to the process or product as needed to improve it.
Kaizen examples in small businesses
1. Using kaizen to continually improve the marketing process
Based on brainstorming a company found that their online marketing was not performing that well (it was ‘kinda’ working).
Two of the reasons became obvious:
- Irregular content posting;
- Posts were not always reflecting their vision and positioning.
They have implemented a number of changes to improve this situation:
- Creating a content calendar;
- Using templates for their marketing materials;
- Clarifying their vision and positioning statement and using it.
This simplified their process and produced much better response.
2. Using kaizen to improve the production process
I know that this example probably will not relate to your business, but it’s a real story, and the lesson from it – can be valuable in ANY business.
A soap company was receiving complaints from distributors that some of the boxes arrived empty – meaning no soap in them.
All the engineers brainstormed different ideas and solutions (e.g. putting the camera on the assembly line, installing a robotic arm on the assembly line…) but no one came up with an effective solution.
Then one of the engineers asked the machine operator how he would solve the problem?
The machine operator suggested to put a fan at the end of the assembly line. Boxes without soap would be thrown out of the assembly line and won’t be packed for distribution.
I find this to be one of the best examples of kaizen because it shows that kaizen can be extremely simple AND that it can come from anyone (inside and outside your company).

Set your GOAL for this week…
Here’s a great goal for you:
I am going to OPTIMIZE what KINDA works in my business.
How’s that for a 5-day challenge?

Choose the STRATEGY you will use…
Here is the 5-step process you could follow in order to achieve that goal:
- Identify all the tactics/strategies/products/actions/people that produce some results in your business (or in your life);
- Divide those into 3 lists – easy to optimize, requires some effort to optimize, difficult to optimize;
- Make a plan to kaizen all the items on your “easy to optimize” list;
- Make a plan to kaizen all the items on your “requires some effort to optimize” list;
- Make a plan to kaizen all the items on your “difficult to optimize” list;

PLAN your actions in your agenda…
Your next step is to physically plan this process in your agenda.
Remember – the whole purpose of the Working ON Your Business (WOMB) program is to get you in the habit of investing EVERY DAY 10-15 minutes working ON your business…
So, my suggestion, do NOT do all the exercises in one batch – but stick to the “schedule” I recommend… It will build the right habit, that would serve you for the rest of your business life.
Plan to invest 10-15 minutes EVERY DAY in the coming 5 days to follow the process above.

Now it’s time to IMPLEMENT…
Take 10-15 minutes, right now, and…
- Day 1 – Make a complete list of all the tactics, strategies, products, actions, people, etc… that produce some of the results in your business.
If you just started your business – pick up another area in your life – finances, relationships, health… and do the process in that area.
Post your list in the comment box.
- Day 2 – Divide your list from yesterday into 3 lists: easy to optimize, requires some effort to optimize, difficult to optimize.
Post your 3 lists in the comment box. - Day 3 – Make a plan how to kaizen all the items on your “easy to optimize” list and schedule the actions in your agenda.
Please share your plan and commitment in the comment box.
- Day 4 – Make a plan how to kaizen all the items on your “requires some effort to optimize” list and schedule the actions in your agenda.
Please share your plan and commitment in the comment box.
- Day 5 – Make a plan how to kaizen all the items on your “difficult to optimize” list and schedule the actions in your agenda.
Please share your plan and commitment in the comment box.
Each day share with us in the comment box the plans you wrote.
My commitment to you…
- I’m looking forward to read your process and ideas below;
- I will be there for you in the Wednesday Q&A to support you with any question, challenge or setback you encounter;
- I’m looking forward to celebrate your progress and results on Friday.
Live fully, stay awesome,
Nisandeh

Day 4: How to optimize the list with effort
• Following up on calls: put immediately in my to-do list for a week after a CTA for myself to call! (today: call Tessa)
• referrals: ask explicitly, and also offer to do a follow up. Also come up with a great gift as a thank you for a team. (I have something cool for Harold)
Day 5: hard to optimize
• My garden: Make it a lot smaller, and PLAN time for it every other weekend.
• Money spending habits:
• Ask the 3 questions (do I need it, do I really need it, do I really, really need it)
• Bring back the PLAY box and stick to it. No need to stick to it every month, it’s ok to save for something but don’t go OVER it.
• Time management: this is here because it’s not hard to do but it’s hard for ME to do.l Simply should make a planning every day and stick to it (I do make plannings, but I rarely stick to it)

Day 5 – Make a plan how to kaizen all the items on your “difficult to optimize” list and schedule the actions in your agenda.
I decided to put no more effort in the products that are difficult (to sell). I stopped buying these articles and now I have to get 'rid' of them. The watches I will put on sale. Same goes for the crafts packages. There will be an article in a yoga magazine coming january about sustainable bottles and glasses. Maybe that will give the sale of the glass cups and bottles a boost. The bottles of a certain brand I will take with me to the x-mas markets and sell for a lower price. These products I will not buy again. So the lists made it much cleares what products I need to ditch and what products I will put a little more effort in.
Difficult to optimize
Watches
Crafts packages
Glass cups and bottles
Certain brand bottles

Day 4 – Make a plan how to kaizen all the items on your “requires some effort to optimize” list and schedule the actions in your agenda
Requires some effort
Tunics: the easiest way is to wear them myself on video and in the shop when I get customers. Works most of the time
Jeggings: I already made an outfit for one of my mannequins with the jeggings. Combined it with a tunic as a matter of fact. Making a picture of it and putting in in the newsletter and on socmed.

Day 3 – Make a plan how to kaizen all the items on your “easy to optimize” list and schedule the actions in your agenda.
Beauty products: * make a video * write a blog about specific beauty subjects * write an article about the danger of chemicals and microplastics in beautyproducts
Tea * how to make the perfect cup of tea * write a landingspage about a specific brand tea * write about organic tea with no plastic in the sachet
Shoes * shoes should be on the difficult list. I already decided to stop with shoes
Socks * write about the advantages of bamboo socks * make some interesting insta posts about bamboo socks

Day 2 – Divide your list from yesterday into 3 lists: easy to optimize, requires some effort to optimize, difficult to optimize.
So, I chose products. It is a bit more difficult to divide products into three categories, because you cannot optimize the products, you cán optimize (or try to optimize) the ways you are trying to sell those products. And I really do not know beforehand what products will be easy to optimize and what products will be difficult to sell. On the list are the products that perform less than I would have hoped. Being a conceptstore I can just decide to now buy any of tose products anymore and not bother.
Easy to optimize (I hope it will be easy)
Beauty products
Tea
Shoes
Socks
Requires some effort
Tunics
Jeggings
Difficult to optimize
Watches
Crafts packages
Glass cups and bottles

Day 3: Kaizen on items on my “easy to optimize” list and agenda schedule action:
• Updating clients on progress by e-mails or weekly reports:
o Scheduled 1 hour every Friday to make weekly reports in combinations with time keeping and billing and more. Still think about the best format for this, but starting with a simple overview. Will start sending these every month, see how this works.
• Filing e-mails, reports and articles;
o Starting to make categories and will start doing what comes in from now and scheduled time during the end of year break to do 2022 (see how that goes and maybe a good idea to forget about earlier year depending how fast things go and if doing the past feels as makings sense). Need to develop a more structured filling system than what is now to random, will think about this soon.
• Posting on social media;
o When a mile stone is finished will do so. Coming up at least two this year.
o On topics and visits will plot is a post activity so I can formulate and do.
• Reporting about finished projects;
o See posting on social media.
• Scheduling daily activities;
o Have programmed daily time buffers and set my agenda to 45 min and planned 15 breaks and have planned for getting work done between 8.00-9.00 and 17.00-18.00 every day.
• Spend more time with family and friends.
o Planned all what I wanted for November and December and will plan to put 30 min planning these contacts every month in my calender.
Day 4: Kaizen on items on “requires some effort to optimize” list + agenda schedule action:
• Giving presentations at symposia and workshops;
o Made an upcoming events list that I will maintain,
• Updating website;
o Planned to make a plan during the end of year break and then find somebody to outsource this work
• Storing and retrieving background material (to refer to material);
o This has to be put in the folder structure that I’ll make during the easy to do
• Making project proposals;
o Will develop a format that can be used for all the stuff that I have been re-typing.
• Reserve more time for re-orientation of business activities;
o During walk around the lake with a half and at the end 10 min note taking session.
Day 5: Kaizen on items on “difficult to optimize” list + agenda schedule action:
• Arranging to give presentations at symposia and workshops;
o Have to network and sent out e-mail to invite myself. Will start with what runs in Q2 2023.
• Customer relations;
o Will do this in sending monthly and half-yearly e-mails, still thing how to do this best.
• Selling educational programs;
o Making the 100+ YouTube might help hear of writing a how to e-book, still not clear what to do.
• Transforming knowledge material for double use;
o Start developing this is what it is about slides and notes In a more structured way that I can copy paste in new presentation etc.
• Organising successful to post on social media:
o No idea yet think I need someone to suggest what and or get more advice on this.

1. Identify all the tactics/strategies/products/actions/people that produce some results in your business (or in your life)
So, it reminds me of what I did last week. So instead of processes, I am going to identify products in the conceptstore that produce 'some' results in my business. I would be happier if they produced more results.
a. Beauty products
b. Tea
c. Shoes
d. Glass cups and bottles
e. Certain brand bottles
f. Socks
g. Watches

Challenge in the family: coördinating and providing Informal Care
Identify all the tactics/strategies/products/actions/people that produce some results in your business (or in your life);
About mantelzorg: my mother and her best friends agree now that more infor care is needed that previous; so it's aot easier to talk about and make new 'agreements', urgency is feit and there is consensus;
From time to time in last 15 years, we provided incidentally extra care for my.other and allready passed away father where needed; but now it changes and becomes structural and longterm; especially because it's not about one person but two or three.
From time to time we talked about subjects like vision to future, wishes, last wishes, we made concrete appointments but never made updates in last years;
So tactics and strategies are not very clear;
Actions are kind of ad-hoc, untill now everyybody is satisfied but the longtermplan is i clear. Someone has to take the lead in coordination.
People involved: my mother, the older couple she shares live and household with, my sister, my brother and his wife (living abroad) and me. My husband. First three are on need of informal care now or in nearby future. Untill now most of the time they take care of eachother but situation is changing quickly.
Kaizen gives a helpfull structure to give my brother, who lives abroad, a good position in the proces;
Divide those into 3 lists
=> Easy to optimize:
Decide together that we are in a new phase now;
Consensus about fact that informal care is needed now structurally for longterm;
And that we have to work together to optimize it;
Choose platform to structure appontments and information APP: Hello24/7 (found it today);
Inventarise short and longterm needs together;
talk with boss about situation and possibilities (unpayed days of f.e.);
Look for advices on websites gouvernement and http://www.mantelzorg.nl; and bol.com books;
Make list of al the relevant subsubjects and also put those in lists of easy&some effort& difficult, and Kaizen those in the ‘some effort’- step;
Prepare my children to do the same with their father, who is at the beginning of needing informal care as well;
Prepare my husband and me to do the same with ourselves, ‘build a better boat’;
=> Requires some effort to optimize:
Share my insights from step 1 with my brother, sister, husband, children, and 'the three older people' (family-joke, they know we are callling them like that as a group);
Explain the principles of Kaizen to my brother and sister and inventarise with them what is easy, what requires some effort, and what is difficult to optimize;
Talk the results throug with the ‘three old people’ to see if they agree or if they have other idears;
Go back to brother and sister and make a plan together with them for the three groups of goals, and work through, via principles of Kaizen, to Kaizen all the items on the list; especially ask my sister-in-law if she wants to join the ‘denktank’/brainstorming, because she has experience with long-distance-informal care allready because both her parents got a chronicle illness and passed away;
Talk the results through again with the ‘three old people’ to see if they agree or if they have other idears;
Help with insight and structure financial situation;
Help with insight and structure other administrative issues;
Help to get vision and consensus of the three people involved about last wishes; and be clear to other people involved what those wishes are;
… Etc.
=> Difficult to optimize:
Not clear yet, have to talk that through with all the people whom it involves;
Make a plan to kaizen
Make a plan to kaizen all the items on your “easy to optimize” list;
I'll make an appointment with my brother and sister this week to talk the whole subject through and to Kaizen especially about the ‘easy to optimize''-list;
Make a plan to kaizen all the items on your “requires some effort to optimize” list;
we will look at that in three weeks;
Make a plan to kaizen all the items on your “difficult to optimize” list;
We will look at that in five weeks from now; (I have a brainstormlist but choose not to put that online).
We will gather every two weeks online and in bewteen in the Hello24/7-app and where possible at the house of my mother and friends;

Goal: >> I am going to OPTIMIZE what KINDA works in my business<<
23. WEEK 22 / Day 3 – This is my plan how to kaizen all the items on my “easy to optimize” list and schedule the actions in my agenda.
EASY TO OPTIMIZE
MY WHAT
• I will go through all my reviews picking out ideas to expand my WHAT (Every time I go through the reviews, I pick out the suggestions from my customers). As I wish to give them the WAUW effect, I will, as said earlier in the program, leave them a questionnaire, asking them to leave their suggestions. As thank you they get a special gift like suggested by Max at the time –
WHEN: My next long term guests, are coming tomorrow (Garden House)– I’ll ask them.
I’ll ask my guests in the Forest house on November, 20st.
• I will ask a number of customers to reflect on they stay and to offer me additional products/services which they would like to receive
WHEN: November 23 + 26.
• I will visit other B&B’s to experience what they offer WHEN: 1st weekend of February, 2023)
MY CO-HOST (Forest House)
• I’ll will meet up with her to discuss how to improve our services and to discuss mutual expectations
WHEN: November 19+20th
• I will listen to her ideas and together we will find the best way of working together.
MY CLEANING HELP (Garden house)
• I will schedule a meeting with my interial support explaining my expectations and wishes to her
WHEN: November 25th
• I will listen carefully to what she needs to do it and I’ll make sure I have everything she needs to prepare the house according to my wishes
THE MANNER IN WHICH THE FOREST HOUSE IS BEING CLEANED

I haven't taken the last 2 days to really think about this. I do have some ideas how I can optimize it better.
Tomorrow I am going on vacation for 2 weeks. From the first week of December I will be ready again here in the WOMB .
154 comments

Day 5 - Difficult
* Getting people ENGAGED in the courses and to have them actually FINISH the course and get results
-> Get the system to notify me when someone finishes a module. Send them a (personal or automated) congratulations email
-> Get the system to notify me when someone has NOT been active for a certain period. Send them a message asking them if they need help.
-> Reward people who are very active in the Facebook community (like the 'star' system in WOMB , although no idea yet how to do this)
-> Create a certificate that they can download when they finish a course (maybe also a personal card)
* I have 4 bigger courses and 2 small ones. Smaller ones are easier to sell, so could create some more
-> Create a leadmagnet for each of the 4 big courses (2 already created)
-> Create a mini-course for each of the big courses
-> Make an upsell to the the mini-course on the thank you page of the free lead magnet
* Team Training with horses. I did some of them in the past for a few big companies (eg Rabobank and Nike International). The stable my horses are at is a 5-star facility to perfect location for team training/leadership skills with horses. I'm certified in EAD (Equine Assisted Development).
-> Register domain http://www.trainingencoachingmetpaarden.nl
-> Create website
-> Make a list (and then contact) training companies (like ITIP and de Baak) and make proposal how team training with horses can be part of their company trainings (tips welcome)
-> Activate LinkedIn and post about teamtraining with horses
-> Approach HR managers
* Life clinics. Did lots of them abroad, they were quite successful. Did only 1 this year in NL and had 50 people attend. Most of it has been filmed, but I haven’t created a ‘replay’ from this (could be just another course).
-> Plan quarterly life clinics. Instead of asking € 35 to attend, say that it is FREE. They just need to pay € 35 for facility, chairs, sound, lunch…. Wonder who gave me that idea.

Day 5 – Make a plan how to kaizen all the items on your “difficult to optimize” list and schedule the actions in your agenda.
list difficult to optimize:
- events (marketing) for parents: do local research in schools and kindergarten about actuual needs
- invite people for a special education occasion: organizing VIP lunches
- quality video s in whats app promoting events

- to meet teammanagers (via Linked in) in town willing to educate employees and prevent stress.
- network through teammanagers to give workshops Relax no stress.
- optimize time management with agenda en delegating.

Day 5
difficult to optimize. (I find it difficult)
make smaler products
timemanagement
Take leadership
Like for the WHOMP I had to block time. I have to do more of that. Bok time for the different tasks. (so special tasks on special moments in the week)
So its time management where I have to take leadership

Day 5. Plan regarding Hard

• get creative again --> clear my head, create time and “alone space” for this, aim to be “back” here by Q2 2023
• personal branding, be out there --> needs a strategy/thought/vision, part of the re-calibration retreat
• deals with partners --> aiming for extending with 1 partner before end of this year, starting with a new one per 2023, while yet more new ones are possible but no prio

WEEK 22 DAY 5 - plan the difficult
Make a plan how to kaizen all the items on your “difficult to optimize” list and schedule the actions in your agenda.
Difficult to optimize
2. manage my activities and prioritize them daily
Step 1. This weekend I make a list of everything I need and want to do.
Step 2. I put this list next to my philosophy of life. I'm going to delete anything that doesn't fit this philosophy.
Step 3. I prioritize.
Step 4. I divide my week into focus blocks (leaving space for relaxation).
Step 5. I schedule the remaining actions in those blocks.
Step 6. I schedule an evaluation moment every Monday.
Step 7. I celebrate what I've done every week on Saturday or Sunday.

Day 5 A plan to kaizen the “difficult to optimize”
- The website had some results (selling cardset) but need to be improved
Our website is ok, but attracts little to no new customers. Except for the set of cards.
In Q1 of 2023 we want to upgrade the website and also bring together a number of different parts/products on one website.
It will be important to look for the simple modifications we can make on our website to generate more income/traffic.
- Golden Ticket in the cardset. People could use the golden ticket to get a number of free items, including a book and coaching session
We have sold more than 150 copies of our set of cards. Within this set there is a golden ticket for the book and a coachingssession. The only thing the buyer has to do is register on our website via a QR-code. Less than 20% did register.
I want to get in touch with some customers who have not registered to ask them what has been holding them back. We will also send extra mailings to remind people about the golden ticket.
323 comments

I think getting in touch with them is a great idea.
Also to ‘follow up’ - although late- to the ones that we send it to but did not react and hear their thoughts could be an improvement- now I think of it.

Day 5, all part with Kaizen:
Difficult:
New houses/new products.
Proces: We are working on a new website, for rental-management. That makes it easier, we can add a download-mailinglist-send few mails-phonecall.
Product: 2 weeks ago we order a new contract. I hope this will make it easier to let it sign.
People: One employe like to work at home, but does not work good enough. I need her her on the office, at least half of her workingtime.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some effort:
- Content.
Proces: we produce less, that must be more.
Product: is good.
People: is good, because we also use freelancers
- Website.
Proces: We must on regular basic improve our websites, for now it is too much ad hoc. Product: Both websites need more CTA. People: Good, work very fast, clever and efficient.
- Soc. Media.
Proces: We produce too less.
Product: Can be much better.
People: Basic knowledge can be improved, more trainings. Start with marketing on Linkedin and Youtube
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Easy:
- Customer service.
Proces: Works very well, but a bit more automation
Product: I think we deliver very good customer service.
People: We have an A team. Next month a new lady.
- Booking software
Proces: Works very well, but a bit more automation. The new features are not used all.
Product: Yes, that is very good now. We improved a lot during the Covid period.
People: We have an A team. Next month a new lady.
- Mailings, marketing.
Proces: Our content calender can be better. We have scheduled already a date, to make a very good one for 2023.
Product: I think the mailings are good. But the marketing can better.
People: Also for this an A-Team, including 2 freelancers.

Day 4: Difficult:
New houses/new products. That is absolutely difficult and so necessary. This needs time, at least for the invidual houseowners.

Day 3, some effort:
- Content
- Website
- Soc. Media
For all this parts we need some extra training, not a lot. Most part is functione very well. And also a new website in Eng.
We like to start with marketing on Linkedin and Youtube, that is new and needs some study.

Day 2, Easy
- Customer service
- Booking software
- Mailings, marketing
All this needs some time. We can improve all parts very easy. But we also need some extra training.
We get a new employe(again:) per 1th of December, and we all are loking forward to it.

Day 5
Difficult tot optimize:
Start marketing on Linkedin en youtube and it will take me thinking time to develope it with all the information I got out of the WOMB and Consious Entrepreneur
I made a page on Linkedin and started posting there. During the the Christmas Holliday I will decide on what direction I want to be as for posting on what part of my business ( CF and EF or working with childeren, or explaining games related to CF and EF)

Day 5 18-11-2022
— Make a plan to kaize all the items on your "difficult to optimize" list and schedule the actions in your calendar.
2. YouTube
I was shocked by the number of subscribers I have 24! Most are not public and could potentially be spam. Recently 2 have been added. The video I made as an assignment for the WOMB is doing much better than the other videos. Reason enough to optimize this.
The most important thing is to hold the attention and move towards a climax with the result that it is as concrete as possible.
Schedule a set day to create videos that connect to the 14 blogs every Wednesday morning from 9am to 10am.
3. Book presentation.
I have a short line to the mayor of Gorinchem, who is the ambassador of Gorinchem in dialogue, and I want to offer her a copy with a press release.
I would like to refer to my book for the enormous opportunity that I have been given because the Brabant Aquademie has invited me as a speaker.
Notify the local media when the book is available with a press release.
4. Prepare network meetings
I will think about this in January 2023, taking the spin off from the book presentation.
5. Free coaching sessions as an opt-in.
In January 2023 I will optimize this with Calendly and build it into the Youtube videos as a call to action.
154 comments

Day 4 - Some effort
* Re-use the Q&A videos in the members Facebook group.
-> Have them transcribed. One of the course participants volunteered to transcribe the Q&A’s! She says it helps her to really learn from my answers. I will do monthly free coaching sessions with her in return. I can then re-use the Q&A transcript for blogs, FB posts or create a video about the question.
* Affiliate/partnership
- > I tried an affiliate with 1 person but didn’t pursue it. It did bring in some new clients.
Make a list of people who have followed one of my courses and teach as well (have their own students). Offer commission if they sell my courses.
Make a list of people I know who offer RELATED courses or products (eg horse food, horse massage therapists). Offer a free lead magnet for their clients
Make a list of magazines that look for content. Write an article and offer freeby for their readers
* referrals.
-> Set up a referral system. Let the system notify me when someone actually finishes a course. Celebrate, send them a note and ask for feedback and testimonial. Offer them a free mini-course for a friend.
-> Collect and organize all testimonials and nice comments that I received on FB, personal messages, in the group. For the really positive ones, ask them if they would share it on Google or FB testimonials.

Day 4 A plan to kaizen the “requires some effort to optimize”
- Webinars, did deliver some valuable contacts but very few clients
We did some webinars in the past year. We did get positive reactions and feedback, but besides good contacts it did not deliver clients.
For now we did decide not to give any webinars until early next year. Maybe there’s a possibility to give webinars as a new frontend to our new workshops. But before we gone launch that I want to discover what we can do better. For now I think the message was clear but too much content and our offer was not good enough. With that in mind I want to do a kaizen in January.
- LinkedIn post on specific product (cardset) did work but other post didn’t bring in new clients (only interesting comments and some contacts).
Besides all the posts on LinkedIn to show our expert position I want, in the near future, to post more posts about our set of cards and referrals about this set.
And think about what actions we should take to get people from our posts more to the free frontend products.

WEEK 22 DAY 4 - plan the ‘some effort’
Make a plan how to kaizen all the items on your “requires some effort to optimize” list and schedule the actions in your agenda.
Please share your plan and commitment in the comment box.
3. express my philosophy in a non-compromising way
- Formulate a first, concise description of my philosophy.
- Talk to Marcel Dassen.
- Share and discuss it with my buddies.
- Choose a day in December 2022 and describe my philosophy in more detail on 1 A4.
- Determine which parts I can substantiate in what way.
- Collect sources for this substantiation.
I will have this done by December 24, 2022.

Day 5: difficult to improve, because I have not much knowledge of this all. I have to hire people who are specialists in this area. A plan for this I don't have at this time. It is useful to have this in view with the prospect of my new business start-up, though.
- Difficult: whatsapp communication, email communication, website functionalities, processes, terms and conditions etcetera.

Day 4: what requirer some effort:
- website visit analysis, newsletter response analysis, update on the holiday regions, periodic conversations with holiday destination parties, periodic contact with our premium partners, accounting actions, private especially the housekeeping tasks: these are taks that I listed to rely upon by the time I really start with my new business. Therefore I will make this plan along the startperiod of my business.

— Make a plan to kaizen all the items on your "requires some effort to optimize" list and schedule the actions in your calendar.
Blogging
With ActiveCampaign it has become easier to schedule mailings. What I need is a schedule with topics and a fixed time to write the blogs:
The 14 development points will be fourteen blogs that I will write according to the five-minute method.
I will write the blogs every Friday at 1:15 pm with photos and then I will post them in ActiveCampaign before Tuesday 9:15 am. The call to action will be downloading the 10 most important development points with a feedback form on your own management, including a free development interview.

Day 3 A plan to kaizen the “easy to optimize”
- Automated emails and follow up at download of “inkijkexemplaar” on website
Next week I would like to go with Bas in 30 minutes to see why it is that this does not yield sufficient results. The easiest way out is to extend the automation with 1 or 2 emails, but I would like to look for a creative solution.

Day 2 Divide list
Easy
- Automated emails and follow up at download of “inkijkexemplaar” on website
Requres some effort
- Webinars, did deliver some valuable contacts but very few clients
- LinkedIn post on specific product (cardset) did work but other post didn’t bring in new clients (only interesting comments and some contacts).
Difficult
- The website had some results (selling cardset) but need to be improved
- Golden Ticket in the cardset. People could use the golden ticket to get a number of free items, including a book and coaching session

Day 3. Plan regarding Easy
• more weekly detail planning, and stricter reverse engineering planning for quarterly ambitions --> pick this up again once plan for next period is clearer (before the end of the year)
• clean-up sessions (desk, files/laptop, mails/accounts, etc), to stay more organized --> set as fixed task monthly in the agenda on Fridays
• better referral incentives --> think out how to incorporate this in/around my products, and in my approach of clients (move to Q2 next year)
• reuse and leveraged use of already-made content --> incorporate this in my new marketing approach, to start as of 2023
• webinars & automating the lead generation for that --> part of my new marketing approach, to start as of 2023
